Instructional Designer (m/f/d)

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) is one of the largest practice-oriented universities in Bavaria and covers a wide range of subjects with the fields of technology, social and economic sciences, design and languages. We accompany around 9,300 students in more than 70 courses on their educational path. Since 2022, THWS has been certified by the audit family-friendly university in order to meet the diversity of life plans and family forms and to actively promote the reconciliation of the profession and family of their employees. The Center for Digital Teaching (ZDL) is the central point for teachers and students on the topic of digitalization in teaching at THWS. We take care of the Learning Management System (Moodle), as well as other central software solutions for digital teaching and offer training, support as well as advice on media-endidactic issues and tools. Currently we have the following place to occupy: Center Digital Teaching Instructional Designer (m/d) in full time Application code: 44.1.781 The place shall be occupied at 01.08.2026 or the next time possible, the place of service shall be located in Würzburg. The recruitment is carried out within the framework of a project limited to 31.07.2028 and full time (40 hours/week). An extension is sought; the place is in principle part-time, provided that the full implementation of the tasks is ensured by job sharing.

How your task looks: You coordinate the conception, implementation and further development of online courses in close cooperation with the faculties, develop didactic, media and organizational concepts for this, and bear the responsibility for the results for the didactic and media quality of the digital learning content. You build structured processes and sustainable framework conditions for the quality-secured implementation and support of online courses, develop them continuously and qualify, advise and accompany teachers and other project participants in the design and implementation of digital teaching and learning formats. You design internal and external communication, drive networking with central stakeholders actively and coordinate the project tasks across locations at the Würzburg and Schweinfurt locations as well as in close coordination with the Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb).

What you should bring: successfully completed academic studies (e.g. Master or Uni-Diplom), as far as possible with reference to digital education, or a comparable relevant qualification detectable knowledge and experience with learning management systems (in particular Moodle) and digital testing comprehensive expertise in mediendidactic or media issues as well as deeper knowledge in didactic and pedagogical concepts detectable practical experience in the university context, e.g. in university teaching, cooperation with teachers and students, as well as in the control and implementation of university-internal processes preferably experience in multi-level, project-based cooperation knowledge of English in word and writing Experiences as an e-learning author or in media production in general a high level of communication in complex high school contexts pronounced analytical and conceptual skills Ability to self-organized, structured work combined with agile and team-oriented working
