The three-year course offers the perfect variety between theoretical knowledge transfer at the HS Bund in Münster (in total 24 months) and practical experience acquisition at the IT of the Federal Office with location in Nuremberg (in total 12 months). The study begins with two theoretical semesters at the HS Bund. During your studies, you complete a total of two practical semesters and are supported by the department of interest and supervised according to your research priorities. The practical and theoretical phases change. During the entire course of your studies, you will receive counselling in order to concentrate on your studies. Why do we need YOU for VIT? Your study plan is based on the tasks of the Federal Administration and the skills required for IT support. Both IT and administrative content are provided to you. The study consists of three columns, each of which is modular: Column 1: Computer Science (50 % of total hours: e.g. programming, data banks, operating systems, IT security, e-government, software engineering); Column 2: Administration and digital administration (30% of total hours: including project management, economics, accounting); Column 3: General administrative and IT law (20 % share of total hours: including administrative, constitutional, IT and public service law) You complete your studies as an administrative informant or Management informatics in the advanced service and acquires a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). At the Münster site there is the possibility to live in an affiliated student residence of the federal university. After successful completion of the three-year study, you will be able to expect diverse and socially relevant tasks in an international environment at BAMF.
