You shape the framework in which responsible, safe and regular AI is developed and used in the bank. You create trust, minimise risks and make sure AI is used in accordance with regulatory, ethics and Santander standards.

You unfold and update the AI governance framework (model lifecycle, control points, releases) together with the Data Governance function.

You develop and implement guidelines for responsible and ethical AI use.

You ensure that regulatory requirements (e.g. EU AI Act, GDPR, local requirements) are complied with.

You work closely with Compliance, Legal, Risk and the DPO, including exams, assessments and validations.

You define standards for model documentation: traceability, explainability, impact assessments – and implement the local requirements across the bank.

You accompany specialist areas and project teams in AI risk analysis and raise awareness of responsible model use.

You live risk culture through the continuous development and maintenance of responsibility in the proactive handling of risks within the bank

You have a university degree or a comparable qualification in areas such as natural sciences, economics, law or related disciplines.

You bring well-founded experience in AI/Model governance, risk management, compliance or regulatory – ideally in a financial institution or a highly regulated environment.

You have evidence of relevant regulations, in particular EU AI Act, GDPR, EBA/ECB requirements, local regulatory requirements and internal control systems (IKS).

You bring a strong awareness of ethics and responsible AI and you can develop and enforce relevant policies.
