In Group Research & Mercedes‐Benz Cars Development (RD), we work on the vehicles that secure our technology leadership – and the charging experience of our electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles is an absolute key area. Our Charging System Integration department is responsible for vehicle-side integration of all charging functions: We link software, hardware, user experience and backend services to a functional overall system. We ensure that charging functions in the vehicle function reliably, intuitively and customer-oriented – across series, vehicle platforms and international markets. From analysis to prototype testing to integration into the series we cover a wide range. As a working student*in you are a full-fledged part of our team. Responsive tasks directly on the vehicle, at test stands and in project management

Insights into charging system integration, E/E architecture, prototype testing, Lean & Agile management and strategic development processes

Every day, new challenges in the international project environment at Mercedes‐Benz, which will bring you professionally and personally

Your tasks – Here you introduce yourself: Hands‐on at the vehicle & test bench: Flashing and updating of control units (e.g. HV chargers, communication ECUs)

Preparation and performance of tests on the vehicle and test benches

Analysis of loading behaviour, fault images and system reactions

Support for benchmark analyses and feature comparisons

Charging experience design: Cooperation in verifying and validating the charging system for future platforms and model series

Assessment of the interaction between vehicle, backend services and UI displays

Participation in series releases, release preparations and feedback schemes

Project management & coordination: Self-working of own subprojects within the charging system integration

Support for test planning, documentation and tracking of tasks

Interface work with UI/UX, App teams, SW integration, diagnosis, homologation and experiment

Focus: coordination, integration, system-wide dependencies

Strategic communication: Creation and coordination of presentations for internal stakeholders and management

preparing complex technical relationships in a comprehensible form

Focus: Transparency in the Development Process

Teamwork & Innovation: Organization and participation in workshops

Bringing new ideas to optimize test and integration processes

Proactive cooperation with the entire project team

The activity can begin from March 2026.

You are a registered student*in an economic or technical degree course (e.g. economic engineering, business informatics, BWL, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable)

German and English knowledge in word and writing is essential for international cooperation

Secure handling of MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) is self-evident

You are characterized by high self-motivation and initiative, strong team skills, organizational talent and an analytical, strategic way of thinking

A great enthusiasm for electric mobility, future technologies and the next generation charging experience completes your profile
