We are a dedicated translational research group that deals with the foundations of the human immune response to viral infectious agents and the development of new strategies for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Our research combines clinical studies with modern immunology, virology and molecular biology to specifically translate scientific findings into clinical application.
The position is embedded in an internationally connected research environment supported by several national and international funding programmes, including the ERC Synergy-Grant project “CoEvolve” funded by the European Union. Our work focuses on the investigation of rapidly evolving RNA viruses such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses.
Your contribution will directly help to gain new insights into virus immune system interactions and to support the development of future vaccination, prevention and therapy strategies.
Your duties
Medical care of study participants in clinical and translational research projects in the field of infection medicine, immunology and virology Implementation of study-related measures such as reconnaissance talks, blood collection and clinical data collection and documentation Assessment and documentation of clinical findings and support in the collection of study-relevant data Participation in the planning, organisation and implementation of clinical studies in the field of viral infectious diseases Close cooperation with scientists, Study Nurses and technical and clinical project partners Analysis of human samples and their own research activities in the context of translational research projects in the laboratory environment Support in the creation and maintenance of study-relevant documentation and regulatory processes Creation of scientific evaluations, presentations and publications Support for monitoring, audits and regulatory inspections Interdisciplinary cooperation with clinical and scientific partners within national and international research networks
Successfully completed study of human medicine and approval as a doctor/ doctor in Germany Interest in clinical and translational research in infection medicine, immunology or virology Ideally, first experience in conducting clinical studies or in scientific work Knowledge of GCP guidelines and regulatory requirements of clinical research are desirable Careful, structured and independent working with a high sense of responsibility Impressed communication skills and joy in working with students and interdisciplinary teams Interest in scientific questions and translational research at the interface between clinic and basic science Very good knowledge of German and English i...
