Medical Informatics Specialist (m/f/d)

Branch: Nursing, emergency medical ... Branch: Nursing, emergency medical services and obstetrics

Medical informatics (gn*) Project deadline until 29.02.2028 | Full-time with 38.5 hours of week | Remuneration according to TV-L E13 | Institute of Medical Informatics | We're the UKM. We have a clear social mission and special responsibility with the connection of medical care, research and teaching. To meet our high standards every day, we look forward to your scientific expertise – best with you. In our Medical Data Integration Center (MeDIC), we work on innovative projects within the framework of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and the University Medicine Network (NUM). We develop interoperable data infrastructures across Germany to make routine data from clinics for research and personalized medicine usable. At the same time, the NUM coordinates clinical research across Germany and strengthens the reactivity of university medicine in health crises – a unique opportunity to participate in pioneering medical informatics.

PROJECTS ON THE OVERVIEW: The newly funded project NUM ENRICH (Extending NUM Research Infrastructures through Collaboration and Harmonization) connects the existing NUM research infrastructures to a uniform data space and extends the NUM data space with new data types, such as mHealth data from sensors and wearables, which are to be integrated into the infrastructures based on interoperable standards. In the MeDIC Münster, which is located in the Institute of Medical Informatics, a prototypical cross-platform app is developed to enable the standard transfer of wearable data into the structures of the NUM. In addition, the EyeMatics (Eye Diseases Treated with Interoperable Medical Informatics) project is funded as part of the medical informatics initiative and implemented together with the Department of Ophthalmology of the University Hospital of Münster. The aim is to harmonize real treatment data from six university clinics and to make them usable for research and care. The focus is on frequent eye diseases and the IVOM therapy (intravitreal surgical drug administration). New biomarkers are identified by cross-site data integration, patient-reported results and the use of statistical and AI methods. A clinical dashboard visualizes the results in real time and creates the basis for more precise guidelines in ophthalmology. .
