Depending on your experience, you will first be closely accompanied and then increasingly independently take over the following tasks: You discuss inventions directly with clients, develop protection strategies, write patent applications and conduct grant proceedings before the DPMA, the EPO and - together with foreign colleagues - before international patent offices. You analyze third-party intellectual property rights accompanying development projects and advise on protection, design alternatives and possible risks of injury. You participate in opposition proceedings and, with increasing experience, take over their independent processing. You support the extrajudicial and judicial assertion and the defence of patent claims in Germany and abroad. You deal with questions of employee inventor's right and the protection-related contract design, in particular licensing and development contracts. Together with our legal department, you will also advise clients in brand, design and competition matters, the latter in terms of industrial property rights.

In particular, we address applicants at the beginning of their patent attorney career. Multiannual professional experience is welcome, but explicitly no requirement. You have at least one of the following qualifications or are close to their completion: German admission as a patent attorney or passed German patent attorney examination as a patent prosecutor; Approval as European Patent Attorney or passed EQE; immediately before the conclusion of the German patent attorney's examination or the EQE. Their technical background is preferably in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or physics or in an adjacent technical field. You like to penetrate technically and legally demanding situations and represent them precisely and understandably. You work carefully and in a solution-oriented manner, appreciate personal client contact and team collaboration and want to gradually take on entrepreneurial responsibility. We require very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing. We do not expect you to master any type of procedure on your own on the first day. A well-founded technical basis, willingness to learn, sense of responsibility and personal access to our team are crucial for us.

Attractive and transparent remuneration: The fixed basic remuneration is 85,000 to 110,000 euros gross per year for full-time activities. The classification depends in particular on the admissions already acquired and your professional experience. Once a fee turnover threshold is reached as a function of the respective basic remuneration, you will additionally receive a fee-based variable compensation component. Responsibility with retention: You will be included early in client discussions and strategic considerations, take on gradually your own responsibility and can at any time rely on the professional Sparring of experienced colleagues. Flexible working time design: With electronic time recording, you can organize your patent attorney's expertise within a framework from 7:00 to 19:00, taking into account mandate, appointment and deadline requirements. Our assistance is usually occupied from 8:00 to 17:00; the necessary work will be done easily with the team. Mobile work: After you have been involved in the workflows, you can regularly work on the mobile network for up to two days a week in consultation with the team. Professional development and organisation: contemporary IT, digital file processing and qualified assistants give you free space for professional mandate work. We support training and, if not yet available, the acquisition of further German or European qualifications.
