The new-type design of the body blank is responsible for the complete planning of the highly automated body blank for all Mercedes Benz car series worldwide. Our team: Our team clamping and fixing concept Rohbau is a cross-sectional function of the planning body blank construction and is responsible for the creation of joining sequences and device concepts from the individual part to the complete body. In the course of Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation, a web-based tool for automated joining succession creation has been developed, which is now to be optimized. We are looking for support. The tool is used for planning all Mercedes-Benz series worldwide. Your mission: As an intern*in, the Rohbau production planning team will support you in the further development of our innovative joining succession tool, which optimises the planning processes with the help of machine learning. You will gain insight into the interface between state-of-the-art technology and high-quality vehicle manufacturing and help improve the efficiency, quality and intelligence of our planning processes. Your tasks in detail: Support in the development and implementation of a new design approach incl. Machine Learning to optimize the joining sequence generation

Using the design and evaluation of solution alternatives to improve the joining succession tool

Working in an interdisciplinary team of the clamping and fixing concept together with IT

Competent creation and analysis of new prototype functions (Click Dummy, MVP) as well as the derivation of recommendations for action

Documentation and presentation of the results achieved

Degree in mechanical engineering, engineering, computer science or a comparable degree programme

First knowledge of machine learning and data analysis are advantageous

Basic knowledge of production planning, software development and programming e.g. with Python

Interest in body building planning processes

Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing

Safe handling of MS Office

Analytical thinking and a structured working method

Team spirit, communication skills and initiative
