The protected vehicle BOXER 8x8 was developed in a joint cooperation programme between Germany and the Netherlands by the international consortium ARTEC GmbH in Munich. ARTEC is a joint venture of KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. ARTEC is a manufacturer and contractor for the BOXER program, responsible for the coordination of series production and the export of the BOXER. Annual turnover is usually between EUR 300 and EUR 400 million. By December 2025 more than 2,000 BOXER vehicles were contracted. Other major projects are on.
