Research Assistant - Theology and Exegesis of the Old Testament

We are looking for: In the Faculty I - Faculty of Philosophy, Seminar for Evangelical Theology, we are looking for a scientific assistant on 01.09.2025 at the following conditions:

• 100% = 39.83 hours
• Pay group 13 TV-L deadline 31.08.2028

Your tasks:

• 4 semester weeks (i.e. two courses per semester) Presence teaching in Evangelical Theology, especially in the Old Testament, in BA and MA courses
• Support for "Evangelische Theologie - Theologie und Exegese des Alten Testaments" in research and teaching, supervision and examination of the students and participation in academic self-government and administrative tasks
• Development and implementation of an own research project (preferably Habilitation or Postdoc project, alternatively also PhD project) in Evangelical Theology in the Department of Old Testament
• Contributions to the development of sustainable ideas for research projects, including interdisciplinary orientation

Your profile:

• Academic degree (master or comparable) in the subject of Evangelical theology or a comparable subject with at least good grade, preferably also completed doctorate in the subject of the Old Testament or a comparable subject
• Language knowledge: German (level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference), English (at least level B2), Biblical Hebrew (hebraicum or comparable), Ancient Greek (Graecum or comparable)
• Willingness to further education and preferably existing experience in university research, teaching and administration
• readiness to or preferably already existing experience in interdisciplinary cooperation
• Individual initiative and team skills
