Pedagogical Specialist Taking Into Care (m/f/d)

Mission Leben is a non-profit company in the context of the diacony that is committed to people in special situations. With around 2,500 employees in 40 facilities in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, we offer support for people with care needs, with disabilities or social emergencies as well as for children and young people. In Gießen we are active, among other things, in youth assistance: with a central location in the city centre, where we have been holding various youth assistance offers under one roof since May 2024. The facility is closely connected to our established Children's and Youth Help Centre Waldfrieden in Butzbach.

Your future tasks

• They are responsible for everyday design and management in an inobservatory with 6 places for the first reception of children and adolescents from usually 12 years after acute exposure.
• They design the stay in our institution as a positive, enriching life and enable a constructive perspective planning in which the young person is included as best as possible.
• They provide protection and take necessary measures if necessary. Prevention work is also carried out during the course.
• Together with the team, you identify funding needs and support the development of children and young people entrusted to you individually. If necessary, organize and accompany ideas with external departments.
• They coordinate further actions and cooperate with ASD, schools and other authorities in the sense of individual young people. If possible, support and accompany the contact with the family of origin.

• Completed training as an educator or nurse *in, a comparable recognised educational qualification or a corresponding university degree
• The necessary competences and the ability to make decisions on technical aspects
• A positive and open basic attitude and flexibility for changing requirements
• Your willingness to shiftwork and weekend work (day services and night-time services on site)
• Class B licence
