The “Airborne Radar System Definition & Support” area is responsible for the systemic support of existing, vehicle-based radar systems for flying platforms such as Eurofighter Typhoon, Panavia Tornado or NFH Sea Lion. Furthermore, the field carries out system engineering in the planning and design of future vehicle-supported radar systems, supports the acquisition of new development projects in the field of technical implementation.

The tasks of the system department are characterised by interdisciplinary approaches, close contact with national and international customers and users as well as scientific research institutions and cooperation partners.

System Design analyses, especially built-in test requirements at radar system level and deriving a built-in test concept from it for a sub-system Responsibility for creating and maintaining a built-in test concept at sub-system level and its documentation Interdisciplinary coordination of the built-in test concept with relevant stakeholders (technical development, specialist groups (e.g. Safety, RMT), customers) Responsibility for concepts for error handling, error classification and error filtering System-technical monitoring of implementation work by appropriate hardware, software and firmware groups Support of validation and verification activities for the concept Support in the qualitative and quantitative assessment of ‘failure fashions’

Completed studies (Master) in the field of electrical engineering, physics or comparable Multiannual experience in system engineering Experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering, especially Rhapsody) Knowledge of radar system design advantageous Independent, targeted and structured operation Ready to work in an interdisciplinary manner Embossed team skills and customer orientation Commitment and performance German and good knowledge of English
