The Department of Engineering Hydrology develops Open Source Virtual Reality Software for Teaching (MyScore and Anywhere Academy). We develop existing VR scenarios and continuously develop new approaches that are used in teaching. The software is based on the use of generic and personal avatars as well as recently on the connection of avatars to AI language models. For our collaborative project RWTH:2U as well as free space projects (supported by the Innovation Foundation in Higher Education) will seek reinforcement for our VR developer team. The RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. RWTH offers a variety of health, counselling and prevention services (e.g. university sports) as part of a university health management. There is a wide range of training and the possibility of obtaining a job ticket for employees and civil servants.

Your profile Practical experience with development in game engines, especially Unity 3D Experience in object-oriented programming, ideally C# Experience in working with XR projects Experience with version control systems such as Git Complete university studies (master or comparable) in the field of computer science or engineering Good oral and written German and English language skills A high degree of initiative; Responsibility and team spirit Optional knowledge: Experience with Blender Experience with multiplayer applications Experience in Game Design / UX

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be terminated until 30.09.2028. If a doctorate is sought, an extension of a total of at least 3 years is provided. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law.
