Research assistant at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Institute of Lightweight Design in the field of manufacturing processes of ceramic composite structures (m/f/d)
Research assistant Senior Consultant (m/w/d) at the Faculty of Aerospace Technology at the Institute for Lightweight Construction in the field of the manufacturing processes of ceramic composite structures (Deferred to the 13 TVöD Group) for the next three years in full or part-time. The University of the Bundeswehr München is firmly anchored in the national and international research landscape. As a campus university with very good basic equipment, it offers the best conditions for high-quality teaching and research. In our self-understanding, we see ourselves as a family-oriented institution that stands for equality, diversity and equal opportunities. The Institute for Lightweight Construction (www.unibw.de/lightweight Construction) is dedicated to the development, manufacture and design of lightweight construction structures from conventional and innovative materials for a wide range of applications. This includes the design and analysis of new lightweight construction concepts, the evaluation of the structural behaviour by means of suitable calculation methods and the implementation of extensive experimental studies. A modernly equipped structural mechanical laboratory with high-performance measuring technology is available for this purpose. The research project ProVeRSI – Process understanding Reactive melt infiltration systematically examines the individual process steps in the production of fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix composites (Ceramic Matrix Composites, CMC). This material class offers great potential for future lightweight structural applications under high temperature conditions of significantly over 1000 °C. The project focuses on the chemical-physical modification of fiber surfaces and boundary layers for the targeted adjustment of the fiber-matrix bond and on the analysis of the pyrolysis behavior of suitable precursor chemicals. The project will be carried out in close cooperation with the Wehrwissenschaften Institut für Werk- und Betriebsstoffe (WIWeB) in Erding. The experimental work is mainly carried out on WIWeB. .
