Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d)

You are responsible for data integration and modelling in SAP Datasphere and you are integrating source systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, databases and interfaces, building stable loading lines and developing ETL/ELT processes including transformation logic, delta handling, error handling and monitoring. You develop data models (Views, Analytic Models, Facts and Dimensions) according to defined standards and ensure data quality, performance and traceability through data lineage and careful documentation. You develop Stories, Analytic Applications and Planning Applications in SAP Analytics Cloud, implement a uniform look & feel, consistently implements standard components and delivers solutions to the productive environment after testing and acceptance. You take up technical requirements from the specialist areas, evaluate and specify them and translate them into implementable data products - thereby providing advice on feasibility, effort and sensible solutions and align with the adjacent IT roles. You take over the operation and further development of the platform: You fix errors, maintain existing data models and reports, optimize runtimes and resource consumption, and actively promote standards, governance and documentation – also with AI and advanced analytics applications and scripts in SQL, Python or R. You take responsibility for defined topics and work packages in projects, guide both juniors and working students professionally, review data models and dashboards and promote self-service competence in the areas of expertise through training and guidelines.

You have a completed study of (economic)informatics, computer science, statistics, data analytics or a comparable qualification and brings many years of professional experience in the development of BI and data solutions with the focus on data integration, ETL and dashboard development. You have accompanied projects in building data models and reports on a cloud-based BI platform – ideally with SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud. You will bring first experience in cooperation with disciplines - from the inclusion of requirements to translation into implementable data products. You communicate safely in German and English, are sure to deal with MS Office and bring an understanding of data quality, authorization concepts and governance in the business environment. Ideally, you bring first points of contact with AI and advanced analytics topics - SAP certifications in the SAP Datasphere and/or SAP Analytics Cloud environment as well as further training in agile methods (for example Professional Scrum Master) are a plus.
