Network Development Engineer (m/w/d)

Design, construction and implementation of networks in maritime technology, (LAN, VLAN, VXLAN) Design, configuration and implementation of virtual network components preferably VMware (vSwitch, dSwitch, NSX) Support and continuous maintenance of existing networks, including switches, routers, firewalls and other network components (Cisco, Nvidia/Mellanox). Proactive monitoring of the network using network management tools, identification of malfunctions and implementation of problem analysis and troubleshooting. Establishment, evaluation and maintenance of security concepts in the IT security sense, e.g. firewalls (IDS/IPS), data diodes, security gateways and VPN, to ensure network security according to Common Criteria, BSI requirements and specific customer requirements. Creation of network documentation, such as network diagrams, configuration logs and reports on network performance and availability, as well as hardware and system specifications in Doors in the network area. Analysis of network utilization, identification of bottlenecks and implementation of improvements to optimize network performance. Support in the integration and testing of the plants during initial operation and in the event of a fault in Germany and abroad Market research, selection, hardening (environmental testing) and obsolescence management of switches, routers, SFP modules etc.

Complete studies in computer science, network technology or a comparable qualification, such as a completed vocational training in the IT sector (e.g. specialist in system integration) with a final further education to the technician:in and corresponding professional experience, ideally in system networks. Knowledge of how to use common network technologies (e.g. Cisco, Juniper) is advantageous. First experiences in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF). Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional) or other network certificates are advantageous. Analytical skills to solve complex network problems as well as troubleshooting and troubleshooting. Ability to work together in interdisciplinary teams and to communicate with users and other departments. The following software tools are of advantage: Doors, SAP, Ansible (network automation), Linux knowledge, Integrity (version software), NetBox. Good knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
