In these areas it advises the Federal Government as well as other institutions and interest groups. This makes the BfR an important contribution to protecting people. The Department of Information Technology with more than 80 employees plans, acquires and operates IT for the entire BfR to ensure secure, flexible and efficient IT support in performing all the tasks of the institute. IT enables new data-intensive scientific methods and supports cross-authorities projects with its own software development. It is also a driving force in the digitization of the administration and the productive use of artificial intelligence.

Conception and planning of storage infrastructures taking into account current technologies and future requirements Development of strategies for optimizing and scaling the storage infrastructure Design and implementation of IT operating areas for data centers, including the physical infra structure and associated security concepts Analysis of existing systems and derivation and control of improvement measures Cooperation with specialist departments and IT teams of the BfR and control of external service providers Creation of technical documentation, maintenance plans and architectural documents Support in selecting suitable hardware, software and cloud solutions

Completed academic studies (Master, Diploma or a comparable university degree) of informatics or a comparable discipline Multiannual experience in IT architecture, especially in storage and data center/datacenter operation (RZ/DC) Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) and virtualization and cloud infrastructure Experience in the planning and implementation of operational and technical areas in data centers Knowledge of common safety standards, energy efficiency and sustainability in the context of data center planning and RZ operation Analytical thinkability and pronounced communication skills Enforcement, negotiation skills, cooperation and team skills Proven creativity and pragmatism against challenges in IT projects Very good knowledge of the German and English language in word and writing Strong sense of responsibility, high readiness for learning and training readiness for the extended safety review under the Security Audit Act Where applicants do not fulfil the full requirement profile, a task transfer within the framework of a lower remuneration group is considered.
