You develop detailed technical designs for network projects from data center and cloud connections, location networking, security architectures, and translate technical requirements into implementable network solutions, taking into account the company-wide architecture requirements. You create high-level and low-level designs, network diagrams, IP address concepts and configuration templates, evaluate and select suitable network technologies, products and solution approaches (e.g. 3-tier, spin-leaf/fabric or hybrid architectures), taking into account high availability, performance, security and economy. You document projects professionally for all relevant stakeholders – from project managers to implementation teams to external service providers. You accompany network projects holistically from the requirement analysis to the design phase to the go-live, coordinate internal teams, manufacturers and service providers, ensure the design-compliant implementation and analyze complex technical challenges to optimize designs based on performance, security requirements or changed framework conditions. You advise specialist areas, project and operating teams on network solutions, carry out technical workshops and design reviews, share your knowledge on the continuous strengthening of technical expertise in the company and participate in a changing, additionally remunerated readiness to ensure the high availability of critical infrastructure.

You have a degree in computer science/information technology or comparable IT training as well as several years of practical experience in the design and implementation of enterprise networks, ideally with technologies such as Cisco, Aruba Networks, Checkpoint, Fortigate or Palo Alto as well as with public clouds such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. You have gained experience in the development of network architectures, know different approaches from classic 3-tier models to modern spine-leaf architectures and understand which approach is best suited to what technical and technical requirements. You know modern network concepts such as software-defined networking (SDN), network orchestration (e.g., ansible or terraform) and overlay technologies such as PPEN/VXLAN, ideally have experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) or Network Automation, e.g. with Tufin, and are characterized by high openness to modern network approaches. You bring experience in work in IT projects, structuring complex requirements and transfer these independently into implementable technical concepts, keep track of parallel projects and communicate clearly and addressably with different stakeholders. You work pragmatically and solution-oriented, analyze requirements based, develop several solution alternatives and evaluate them in terms of technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness and future security, convey technical facts to IT experts and non-technicians in a comprehensible manner and are happy to work team-oriented, open to feedback and together with colleagues, architects and project teams on optimal solutions. .
