Because you make the difference The Institute of Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry performs the tasks of laboratory medicine in research and teaching in the Charité and is located on the Campus Virchow-Klinikum. The research focus is on the clarification of molecular mechanisms of diseases, the identification of new biomarkers & the development of new methods of laboratory diagnostics. Modern methods of structural analysis, molecular genetics, cell biology, protein chemistry and biophysics are used. The institute is in the courses of human medicine (in particular model study program medicine) with approx. 350 courses per semester involved in different modules and semesters.

Participation in research projects of the Institute, including in the field of signal transduction with focus on the relevance of protein tyrosine phosphatases Experimental activities (working time variable during the semester) include: handling of DNA, RNA and proteins Investigations in cell culture Investigations in murine tissue or, if appropriate, animal experimental work Analytical techniques (e.g., gel electrophoresis, Western blot, polymerase chain reaction, histology, immunohistology) Biochemical cell biological functional studies Support for device maintenance and repairs or the organisation of external services Participation in institutional, scientific meetings Close interaction with collaborative working group Support of the Institute Management and the Teaching Coordinators in relation to the Institute's teaching deputy (working time variable during the semester): Preparation and participation in internships (e.g. internship of urinary diagnosis, hemostase, blood collection/blood spread, autoimmundiagnostics, liver enzyme diagnosis, erythrocyte indices, infection diagnosis) Compilation of semester study plans An adequate and accompanying incorporation is ensured.

Technical requirements: They have relevant vocational training (e.g. MTL, CTA, BTA) You have very good knowledge of German in word and writing You control MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) Process-oriented thinking and organizational talent Pre-experiences in university or comparable fields are desirable, but no condition Scientific knowledge or experimental experience in the field of signal transduction are desirable The place is specifically addressed to professional beginners as well as professionals Personal requirements: They work independently and co-ordinate, have a rapid understanding/readiness to learn in the field of experimental research They are stressful, meet all employees and students at any time friendly, polite and facing They are engaged in teaching coordination and have fun in the care of internships and the accompanying teaching of students in practical-technical aspects.
