• Achieve the P&L objectives through portfolio/asset optimization (storage, transport, LTCs, sales, LNG) and use market views to use trading opportunities in advance from intraday to month.

• Contribute to the optimization and trading strategy of the team by analyzing market bases (e.g. geopolitics, cross-commodity, LNG, storage levels, etc.).

• Develop a deep understanding of our portfolio, e.g. contractual, financial, physical limitations, price and temperature sensitivity of contracts, and find new ways to create value from the portfolio.

• Develop efficient interfaces across commercial areas/desks to promote cross-commodity/portfolio optimization (Gas2Power, LNG Regas, Biomethane).

• Achieve high accuracy in the forecast of sales volumes and a careful portfolio control to manage temperature- and price-controlled demand and minimize imbalance costs.

• Promote the implementation of algo trading and other digitalization projects to provide more insight and speed for commercial decision-making (e.g. optimization workstation, fundamental analysis platform).

• Continuously improve efficiency and control by a high degree of automation to create robust operating processes for value creation and value creation.

• Ensure effective communication and close cooperation with the 24/7 Gas Trading & Dispatch Team and the Gas & LNG Forward Optimization Team to drive changes to a seamless optimization function with full focus on maximizing value creation around the clock.

• Support the development of new markets and new businesses (e.g. biomethane, Eastern Europe).

• Standby service outside office hours is required, with rotation between team members from week to week.

• Relevant university degree (mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, business, economics or comparable).

• Quantitative thinking: Use strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and be agile in adapting trade strategies in a volatile market environment.

• Entrepreneurship: Take the initiative in implementing new ideas and be highly motivated to advance and adopt changes.

• knowledge and commercial orientation in the optimization of flexible assets; Experience in commodity trading is beneficial.

• Excellent ability to work under pressure with high accuracy and in a structured way, with a good sense of prioritization.

• Joy of problem solving and stressful, resourceful and pragmatic.

• Learning eager and able to translate complex details into simple learning content with clear commercial sense.

• Knowledge of programming skills of advantage.
