Professional group: Service and skilled workers Reference number: T‐2025‐38 Support us as a Specialist Cyber & Digital Forensics (w/m/d) for criminal police central office tasks in the Operational Assistance Department of the Federal Criminal Office. As BKA's IT-Forensics, we provide evidence of digital traces every day in the context of national and international police investigations and make them valuable for investigators. The variety of modern media constantly demands innovative and creative solutions that you can also develop. There are two places available. Do the right thing, too, and do it now!

Participation in operations and in outstanding police operations with IT-forensic support of criminal investigations in the laboratory and the crime or event venue Development of creative IT-forensic software solutions and innovative methods Implementation of IT-forensic data backup, analysis and investigation of possible digital traces/references, such as reconstruction of deleted data, user analysis, preparation and interpretation of log, communication and network traffic data, backup of forums /websites /cloud services Investigation of communication and application software with regard to its functioning and local traces on data carriers and reconstruction of these Compilation of investigation reports /Gutachts and representation of results in court The willingness to design flexible working hours is assumed for the following reasons: Participation in operating operations with absence from the place of service can be planned, occasionally also spontaneously on average 5 to 8 service trips per year mostly multi-day (average 2 to 3 days) mainly inland

Completed university degree with degree (FH) or Bachelor of Computer Science or a comparable completed university degree from the STEM field with IT orientation or comparable skills and experience, but at least a completed vocational training with IT equipment and in addition a minimum of three years of professional experience in a corresponding profession (no registration possible) or comparable skills and experiences, but at least a completed vocational training and, in addition, a minimum of six years of professional experience in a corresponding profession with IT orientation (no beaming possible) In the case of a licence class B or 3 On top You have a well-founded system-oriented knowledge of computer and mobile technology as well as its misuse options in at least one of the following priority areas: Common operating systems (including Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, Mac OS), enterprise solutions or virtualization and container solutions. You have good knowledge of English, proof of the common European reference framework for language (level B1) is desirable. You have programming skills (e.g. in Python, C/C++, Java, Go). You already have knowledge of Typescript and skills in the use of Angular and/or Nest.js, as an alternative, you bring the willingness to learn about these technologies. You have experiences in the handling of programming interfaces and ideally have first experiences in the processing of mass data. You have a very good oral and written expression, have good cognitive and organizational skills, are resilient and independent and flexible in the task.
