Leading: You take over the disciplinary and professional leadership of the urban railway section and conduct it independently and with a high degree of value and target orientation. You are both responsible for ensuring that capacities, processes and schedules are in line with each other and for coordinating all external stakeholders. You are responsible for large-scale business projects as project management (capacity expansion on lines 4, 13 and 18 etc.) or as a manager of the project leaders in your team. In addition, you are the first contact person for the project managers of the urban railway development projects and renewal measures of the infrastructure area at the KVB. You always keep an overview of your planning progress and budget.

Developing further: You will explore operational processes in existing and planned facilities and routes and decide on which results are included in the further planning. You will also check new traffic systems such as long trains and agree with internal and external stakeholders throughout the course. The results presented by you serve to form a corporate opinion. With this you contribute significantly to how the city rail traffic in Cologne develops.

Edit & plan: In your function, you will develop variants for city railway systems and evaluate them. As a result, you will create planning documents up to the approval maturity and tune them with partners. Approval applications based on the BOStrab and the Passenger Transport Act as well as the Landeseisenbahngesetz ( Landeseisenbahngesetz) are addressed and you are working independently. These are new construction and redesign measures as well as structural intermediate states and maintenance measures. You enter engineering orders and negotiate with external specialist departments and engineering offices.

Communicate: Representing business interests to third parties is one of your most important tasks. To do this, you will set up resolution templates for the city administration, answer requests from local politics and participate in meetings where the results of your work are presented to third parties. You will also be involved in various work committees and working groups.

Qualification: You have completed a Master's or Diploma as a Civil Engineerin or Traffic Plannerin and have already gained disciplinary leadership experience.

Expertise & know-how: You know the connections in the ÖPNV and have fun taking a decisive influence on sustainable mobility in Cologne. In addition, you have well-founded knowledge of CAD, GIS and the trassing and relevant experience in their application.

Personality & working methods: You are characterized by your strong communication and persuasiveness. You're open, you like to go to strange people and don't show any fear to enforce the interests of the KVB. When it gets hectic, you keep a cool head, capture the most important points quickly and make good decisions. Your team is at the heart of your work and you are looking forward to working profitably in an ÖPNV-enhancing environment and to bring the change of traffic in Cologne into play.
