Product Development Engineer - High-Speed Connectors (m/f/d)

In this demanding position, you assume the technical responsibility for the development of high-speed electrical connectors and contacts for applications in aviation, military and industrial applications. You bring your expertise into the entire development process – from the concept phase to the standard maturity – and work internationally with customers and interdisciplinary teams. You develop and industrialize innovative connectors – in particular high-speed data connectors and contacts Design 3D models, create technical drawings and define requirements to ensure signal integrity and EMC conformity You develop test adapters and circuit boards for electrical validation and accompany qualification tests according to customer and standard specifications In addition, create and maintain technical documentation such as BOMs and assembly instructions You carry out technical changes, analyze their impact and make material decisions Technically, You support issues relating to manufacturing, quality and suppliers and actively engage in cross-disciplinary project teams You calculate expenses and costs, work with the supplier selection and in the procurement process You plan and test prototypes and are technical contact for international customers in the field of high-speed data transmission Last but not least, you perform simulations for signal integrity and apply tolerance analyses and FEA

Complete study of electrical engineering or comparable qualification Multiannual professional experience in the development of high-speed data connectors, preferably in the military or aviation environment Knowledge of common communication protocols (e.g. Ethernet, USB, HDMI, SATA, 1553-databus) Experience with 3D CAD systems (e.g. Creo) and safe handling of high-frequency measurement technology (e.g. network analyzer, Fluke DSX) Deep understanding of contact technologies, electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior Good knowledge of materials (observed conductivity, corrosion behavior and coatings) Experience with methods such as DfM, FMEA, DOE and RCCA as well as safe handling of MS Office Outstanding analytical skills, self-employment and team spirit Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing and the willingness to occasional international missions complete your profile
