Development Engineer – UAS Focus: Mechanical/Electrical Design & Structure) * (m/f/d)

You develop and construct mechanical structural components for unmanned flying systems (e.g. frames, booms, housings, payload interfaces, floor systems) You integrate electrical components and expose them (e.g. drive, cabling, sensor technology, avionics hardware)

You define the structure and strength design taking into account weight, weight distribution, stiffness, vibrations and load cases

You create CAD models, technical drawings and piece lists for internal and external production

You produce the technical documentation of the system construction state

You are also responsible for the construction, assembly and modification of prototypes

You perform mechanical and electrical system integration, as well as tests, commissioning and troubleshooting

You choose materials and manufacturing processes (e.g. CFRP, aluminum, 3D printing) with

You work closely with software and test engineers and support technical evidence and development documentation (e.g. SORA)

You have completed their studies in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace technology or comparable You bring experience in mechanical construction, ideally in lightweight construction or UAV environment with

You have practical experience in rapid prototyping and system integration

You have basic knowledge of electrical design, cabling and electrical safety and are safe to use CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360 or comparable)

You can inspire interdisciplinary cooperation in a dynamic scale-up environment

You have at best experience with CFRP/GFK production or repair, UAV regulations (EASA, Open/Specific Category) and the construction of small series

You are team-capable, structured and independent, have a high degree of self-initiative, as well as a structured way of working as well as good German and English knowledge in word and writing.
