Medical Coding Specialist / DRG Performer / Manager / Documentation Assistant (d/f/m) with a focus on psychiatry

Overview of the job The MLM shall ensure the documentation and coding of the clinical performance as a basis for billing with the cost-beneficiaries and assess their complaints for the entire hospital operation of the Charité. In doing so, the MLM analyzes the documentation and coding processes and supports the clinics, in particular through consulting and training, in the increase in revenue and security, and is responsible for the complete complaint process. As a encoding specialist with a focus on psychiatry (PEPP), you take on an important interface function in the clinics: You ensure complete and correct encoding of treatment cases using the valid ICD-10-GM, OPS (especially Chapter 9), Alpha/Orpha encoding and the German coding guidelines. You advise and support employees: in the medical field, care and function service on questions of PEPP-relevant documentation and coding. You carry out the plausibility check and quality assurance of medical and nursing documentation on coding relevance. Very important is active intensive exchange with the clinical leaders of your area (e.g. PEPP meetings). You will support the assessment of MD opinions and billings from your area. We aim to encoding in case-related cases with re-exchange with the clinical leaders of your area (e.g. DRG visites) as well as support in the residence time control. You can also apply AI-based coding suggestions. After completion of the installation, mobile work is possible up to 2 days/week. You support encoding at all locations, their main workstation is located on Campus Mitte.

We are looking for You have completed vocational training in a medical or commercial training profession, ideally as a nurse or nurse. You have a completed training or qualification as a medical codier professional and have at least 2 years of professional experience as a codier professional or in medical controlling in a hospital, first experiences for PEPP coding included. You have good user knowledge in MS-Office, Internet, hospital information systems, ideally SAP i.s.h.med and common coding software (e.g. ID DIACOS, Momo). You have a high IT affinity and are always ready to participate in changes in innovative processes. You bring very good German knowledge in word and writing (at least C1).
