For our team of researchers and engineers, we seek a student to support our concept work related to the development of AI-driven solutions for the future of medical applications in microsurgery and medical robotics. With us, you have the opportunity to perfectly combine your practical studies while participating in exciting projects. This allows you to gain valuable skills, expand your network, and grow both professionally and personally. Develop and integrate cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for future surgical imaging devices, utilizing multiple optical imaging modalities

Work in a streamlined manner from a concept phase all the way to production-ready solutions

Analyze, research, test, and implement core functionalities for multi-modal data specific to medical surgery

Research existing solutions in scientific and patent literature and tailoring solutions to our needs

Conduct and evaluation experiments on simulated and real-world data sets

A bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a master's program in mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline, computer science, physics, mathematics with a focus on machine learning

Advanced programming experience in Python, ideally so prior experience in C/C++ or CUDA

Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch (preferred) or TensorFlow

Ideally domain knowledge in medical imaging, preferably OCT and video-based imaging

Experience in software engineering and development with Microsoft Azure is an advantage

familiar experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim and COSMOS for deployment of AI models in simulation

Excellent organization, problem-solving & communication skills (English and/or German)

Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
