Policy and Payment Expert (m/w/d) – Digital Euro Retail Place of work: Frankfurt am Main Job: Full-time (part-time is possible in principle), unlimited Job ID: 2026_0435_02 In the Director-General Digital Euro, you actively shape the future of payment in the euro area. You work at the interface between payment transactions, regulation and technology and contribute your expertise to shaping and transferring the digital euro in the retail sector.

You work on the conceptual design and on the project to pilot the digital euro in the retail sector. Within the team for “Policy, Design and Market Competence” you develop relevant approaches and translate them into impulses for the regulation and the possible introduction of the digital euro. You will also keep in mind the implications for technical implementation by working closely with the teams responsible for the design, development, testing and future operation of the technical platform. For policy and committee work, you will set up clear recommendations and messages for the Executive Board, as well as the department and department management. In addition, you represent the Bundesbank in technical Eurosystem bodies and in exchange with market participants. Interest awakened?
