IT Specialist – Data & Development (m/f/d)
Designing change: This is our drive at the Forschungszentrum Jülich. As a member of the Helmholtz Association, we are researching the digitized society, a climate-saving energy system and sustainable economy with nearly 7600 employees in an interdisciplinary manner. We focus natural, life and technology research on information, energy and bioeconomy. We combine these with expertise in maximum performance and artificial intelligence using unique scientific infrastructures. Design the energy future with us! The energy transition is one of the biggest challenges of our time. At the Institute of Climate and Energy Systems – Jülich System Analysis (ICE-2) we investigate how sustainable energy systems could look – scientifically sounded and data-supported. However, many data and models remain unused because their integration has so far been too expensive. Within the framework of national collaborative projects, we therefore rely on semantic technologies and modern data science and AI-based methods to make data intelligent and practical. Become part of our team and develop innovative solutions for modern, data-based energy system research with us! Strengthen this range at the next time as IT specialist:in – Data & Development (w/m/d)

Your tasks • Your profile • What we offer
In an interdisciplinary team, you develop approaches to the automated and large scale availability and integration of energy system data and models and apply methods of data sciences to make them usable for transparent energy system analyses. The collected data is processed and semantically enriched with processes developed by you before being transferred to a knowledge-graph-based metadata platform that you develop. In exchange with actors from energy research, you develop methods to increase data and software interoperability that allow automated re-use of energy system analysis processes. Along the FAIR and Linked Open Data principles, you will design interfaces that enable smooth processing of big data in the context of scientific, AI-supported energy system research – scalable, comprehensible and interoperable. Your tasks in detail: Development and optimization of interfaces and APIs for the integration of heterogeneous energy system data Implementation and maintenance of automated data processing and transformation processes Implementation of technical solutions for standardized enrichment, validation and organization of data Technical design of a knowledge-graph-based data and metadata platform Integration of modern technologies and standards for interoperability, semantics, AI-based data analysis and data quality Close cooperation with researchers to translate technical requirements into robust technical solutions
