Carl Zeiss CMP GmbH is part of the global ZEISS manufacturing network and offers services for the development and production of opto-mechanical and optoelectronic modules components. The central core competence lies in the production of highly corrected spherical optics systems, which are used in particular in high-performance lenses of microscopy.

As the head of the work preparation in the production environment of our lenses, your team plays a central role in designing efficient, economical and stable production processes. You contribute significantly to the further development and improvement of our production systems and position work preparation as a strategically important interface in the company. Together with your team and in close cooperation with adjacent departments, you establish work preparation as a methodically guided, powerful function – with clear goals, transparent key figures and high quality standards. Your role You lead a team of about 10 employees professionally and disciplinaryly and develop them both professionally and personally.

You are responsible for all work planning and control measures to ensure economic, time and quality production.

You actively shape competitive production processes and ensure cost-effectiveness, flexibility, timeliness and quality.

You accompany the production process both technically and economically

You plan similarity and repetition planning, work sequences and workflows, including selection of suitable equipment, taking into account known production methods and time data; you are involved in manufacturing and economic findings.

You carry out target-actual comparisons, calculate production costs, calculate costs for self- and foreign production, show economic alternatives and make an important contribution to sound make-or-buy decisions.

You make suggestions for the production-oriented design of components and advise internal and possibly external customers to constructive changes (e.g. dimensions, tolerances, materials) in order to further increase the quality, efficiency and stability of the processes.

You serve as an interface between development, construction, production, disposition, purchasing, control and product management and provide a smooth flow of information.

You will process inquiries and prepare the delivery.

You ensure that the necessary skills and resources are available at the right time and actively promote the individual development of your employees.

You have a very successful degree in engineering, mechanical engineering (ideally with a focus on production technology) or a comparable qualification.

You have a strong leadership competence, proven by experience in managing and controlling teams in production.

You have extensive experience in the field of work preparation, in particular in the field of highly complex products and/or processes, ideally in the field of optics, mechanics and assembly of optoelectronic assemblies and modules.

Your experiences include strategic organizational development as well as change management – you design changes structured and with a view to people.

You have the pleasure of motivating employees, controlling them in a targeted way and developing them and thus forming a powerful, dedicated team.

You combine a decision-making and enforceable working style with resilience and constructive handling of conflicts.

Communication strength, a pronounced customer orientation and very good knowledge of German and English complete your profile.
