Strengthen our team as a System Engineer – Data Science (m/w/d) at one of our locations across Germany. Data Science in the SVA combines four strong areas: GenAI, Data Science Infrastructure, Data Science Cloud and Data Mining. Together, we work with state-of-the-art data and AI technologies on projects that have real impact and bring the business forward noticeably. You are deeply immersed in challenging data science topics and become part of an interdisciplinary team of experienced data scientists, system engineers and expert experts (m/w/d). Together we develop data-driven solutions for real business challenges.

Depending on the field of application and specialization, you will work on selected topics from the following fields: You analyze IT landscapes as well as use cases and build the specific architecture to optimally cover customer needs. For this purpose, you will be in contact with our customers, advise and propose suitable solutions. Data and AI-driven use cases with clear business value are designed, implemented and continuously developed. To answer specific business questions, use classic machine learning methods as well as statistical methods, for example in the fields of time series analysis, forecasting or predictive maintenance. You develop modern AI applications focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) taking into account evaluation, security, performance, quantization and – if necessary – fine tuning and agentic approaches. You design, implement and operate scalable data science and AI architectures in public, private and hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, including distributed data processing, containerized services (e.g. Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code.

Complete IT-oriented studies – e.g. in the field of computer science, business informatics, media informatics, software engineering, mathematics, physics Multiannual practical experience and expertise in one of the following areas: GenAI, Cloud Architectures in the Data Science context, Infrastructure as Code, or Data Mining

Depending on your expertise and expertise, you are specialized in one of the following technologies and one of the topics: RAG systems (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and relevant aspects such as evaluation, safety, performance, quantization Microsoft Azure (especially project experience in Azure ML, AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI) or comparable cloud environments distributed data processing and the development of containerized services (e.g. on Kubernetes) classic machine learning and statistical methods on business problems

Deep knowledge of development with python and machine learning / deep learning frameworks in customer projects Funded knowledge about SQL or Spark and ideally distributed data processing or cluster computing frameworks Experience in customer consulting and pleasure in presenting work, with self-organization and work being assumed in the team Ideally, you have knowledge in one or more of the following technologies: Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Timeline Analysis, Infrastructure as Code, NLP, NoSQL, Streaming Systems, Data Science Platforms or Model Deployment

Good communication skills with very good German (level C1 or higher) and English skills (level B2 or higher) as well as readiness to travel within Germany
