Corporate Brand, Communications & Public Affairs (CBC) is responsible as a business-supporting function of the ZEISS Group for the strategic orientation of global branding as well as internal and external corporate communication. In close cooperation with the business units and countries, CBC provides effective communication and a global, consistent brand experience.

Strategic media work and positioning: design and development of media work in business, specialist and local press - positioning of the company, its topics and goals in the relevant media as well as in the public. Network management: internationalisation and further development and maintenance of the internal network as well as media contacts. Thematic planning and development of embassies: continuous development of corporate strategic core messages as well as thematic planning. Press enquiries and media monitoring: processing and coordination of media enquiries, including timely consultations with specialist departments and monitoring and analysis of reporting. Media appointments and interviews: Strategic communication consultancy of the Executive Board and executives in media appointments and interviews as well as organisation and support of these. Publications: Management and editorial development of the Annual Report. Crisis Communication: Active cooperation in the global crisis communication and issue management team. Team management and resource management: leadership and further development of the Media Relations team, including budget responsibility and management of external agencies and service providers.

In this position you are responsible for the strategic media work and positioning of the company in business, specialist and local press as well as the further development of central communication messages. You maintain and extend an international media network, control press enquiries, media appointments, publications and crisis communication – in close coordination with the board and departments. In addition, you will lead an experienced team, coordinate external partners and bear budgetary responsibility.

You have at least five to seven years of well-founded professional experience in press and public relations – ideally focusing on the scientific, medical or technological environment. You bring comprehensive experience in corporate communication with internationally active companies and move safely into global communication structures. You have leadership experience and understand how to develop a team strategically, professionally and humanly. You have profound experience in editorial project management as well as in the management of external agencies and service providers. You are versed in the design, planning and implementation of integrated communication strategies and measures – both in daily business and challenging situations. You have an excellent written expressiveness in German as well as knowledge of English in a safe manner. You stand confidently over top management and convince C-Level with consulting skills, judgment and communication skills.
