The Department of Internal Medicine III (Head of Cardiology and Internalist Intensive Medicine, Director Prof. Dr. med. Derk Frank) offers the entire spectrum of conservative and interventional therapy of heart diseases embedded in the university heart centre.

The interventional therapy of coronary heart diseases (chronic and acute coronary syndrome) is a central field of activity and development of the Department of Internal Medicine III. In addition to established techniques of PCI, the interventions also include innovative methods from the field of intravascular physiology imaging and the use of calcareous methods. In addition, the “Protected PCI” and the “eCPR” are becoming increasingly important, so that the use of mechanical circuit-supporting methods is routine. The aim is to further develop this area; corresponding commitment is expected. The cardiology is currently undergoing a change in performance in relation to stationary services by introducing the hybrid-DRGs. The job owner will be responsible for the short-range of the clinic.
