Head of M&A and Business Development (m/f/d)

In the corporate development team, you are shaping Eppendorf's M&A and Business Development Agenda and driving our inorganic growth strategy significantly. Together with your team, you will ensure that acquisitions, participations and partnerships effectively support the strategic development of Eppendorf.

You conduct, develop and motivate the business development and M&A team (currently five colleagues) and continuously develop its expertise and implementation skills. From the corporate and division strategy, you will guide a prioritized M&A and business development pipeline that will support our inorganic growth ambitions. You take responsibility for the end-to-end M&A agenda - from systematic Funnel creation to target identification and evaluation, due diligence and transaction implementation to post-Merger integration and handover to the Business Divisions. As a trusted:saving partner:in the SVP Corporate Development and the Senior Leadership, you prepare fact-based policy templates and make clear recommendations on acquisitions, partnerships and divestments. You oversee deal quality, risk and value creation across all M&A projects, secure resilient investment cases, reviews and integration plans, and ensure consistent governance. You build a strong external network of target companies, consultants:inside, banks and partners, and you continuously advise to represent Eppendorf competently in all internal and external issues surrounding BD and M&A. With systematic market, technology and corporate screening work, you make a central contribution to the M&A tunnel and identify early growth opportunities with a high strategic fit; you bring international traveling readiness of up to 50%.

You have completed your studies, for example in business, finance, economics, life sciences or engineering; ideally complemented by an MBA or a comparable further qualification. Multiannual, usually at least ten years of experience in M&A and/or Business Development, are characterized in a corporate environment of life science, healthcare, medtech or related industries. You have already been responsible for transactions several times at the end - from the sourcing phase to due diligence and negotiation to the post-Merger integration - and you have proven to create value. Your leadership experience includes managing and developing teams as well as controlling complex, cross-functional project organisations in an international corporate environment. In corporate finance, corporate assessment, financial modeling and transaction structuring, you are sure to meet well-founded decisions based on stressful analyses. You are so confident in an international matrix organization, build sustainable relationships with different stakeholders and navigate safely at senior and board level, especially in negotiations. in English you communicate business-fluent in word and writing; German and other languages are a plus that will allow you to work with our international teams.
