Who we are

In the Department General Psychiatry 2 (Chair doctor: Prof. Dr. med. L. Schilbach, Head physician: Dr. med. D. Kamp) of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, we offer our patients a close interlocking of stationary, semi-stationary and outpatient treatment, which also includes looking treatment instructions. In addition to the fully-stationary area, the Centre offers a daily clinic and ambulance in the day-to-day clinic and ambulance centre (TAZ) at the university hospital location and a psychiatric institute ambulance at two locations.

The department offers specialized counselling and treatment services for persons with a first-time schizo-phrenic disease and chronic psychosis, affective diseases, persons with an autism-spectrum disorder, forced disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity syndromes (ADHS) and other disorders of social interaction. In the context of multimodal therapy regimes, in addition to medicamental treatment, the psychothera-peutic treatment and the further development of the same in the sense of a transdiagnostic approach to strengthening social interaction ability and participation are important focal points.

The LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf leads departments for general psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine, child and youth psychiatry/psychotherapy/psychosomatics, neurology and forensics with a total of 724 beds/plätzen and employs around 1,500 employees.
