Secondary Technology Engineer with a focus on Communication Technology for HVDC (m/f/d)

You develop and evaluate technical standards as well as project-specific solutions for network and IT topics in HVDC network construction projects (HGÜ, FACTS, energy storage). In doing so, you will accompany the technical quality assurance over all phases of the project and ensure compliance with current standards for new, remodeling and extension measures. As a central contact person for network and IT topics with focus on AC and DC systems, you take on technical responsibility and coordinate cross-departmental coordination with adjacent structures. You accompany the entire life cycle of the network and IT systems in AC and DC systems, advise from a technical point of view and support interdisciplinary analysis of new developments, disturbances and damages. Engagedly introduce yourself to national and international specialist bodies, accompany the introduction and further development of standards and new technologies and maintain technical exchange with transmission system operators as well as manufacturers from the electrical and IT industry. Finally, bring your technical expertise into tendering and procurement procedures for network and IT services, coordinate external service providers and take over the time and cost monitoring of the assigned services.

You have a completed university degree (master or comparable) of computer science, communications technology, electrical engineering or a comparable qualification. In addition, you have sound know-how in the technologies and processes in the high-voltage network as well as in the planning and implementation of network and IT projects. Ideally, you will bring several years of professional experience to an energy supplier or transmission system operator as well as knowledge of standards such as IEC 60870, IEC 61850, IEC 81346). Personally, you are convinced by strong team and communication skills, negotiation skills and a structured, independent and targeted way of working. Your subject-specific English is good in word and writing and you are mobile (guide certificate class B).
