Your duties The research group “Tribology” examines tribological systems in fluid technology applications and covers the mechanisms of action in friction, lubrication and wear contacts across different abstraction levels. Using analytical, experimental and simulative methods, tribological phenomena are comprehensively understood and transferred to real technical systems. Thus, existing tribological systems are optimized in terms of application and at the same time established engineering scientific solutions are re-imagined. Their task is to significantly improve the performance of hydraulic machines through a deep understanding of tribological mechanisms. You analyze and optimize friction, lubrication and wear behavior, increase efficiency, sustainability and service life, and develop innovative solutions using experimental, analytical and simulative methods, such as new materials or the geometric optimization of tribological contacts. Close cooperation with industrial partners ensures the direct implementation of your research results in practical improvements in fluid technology systems. Within the scope of your activities, you will find a selection (!) of the following topics: Experimental investigation of tribological contacts in fluid engineering machines, such as axial piston pumps, taking into account material properties, hydraulic fluids, structural geometries and demanding conditions of use Analysis and measurement of surfaces of tribological contacts Development and application of simulation models, for example EHD or CFD simulations. Development, design and commissioning of test stands General tasks as scientific staff include: Editing public and industrially funded projects Communication of research results and acquisitions of new projects Writing publications on research results, research applications and reports Support for teaching Support for student work and guidance of student assistants

Complete university studies (master or comparable) in the field of mechanical engineering, CES, electrical engineering, physics or computer science Knowledge of information and communication systems Programming or simulation skills Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering, construction and fluid technology desirable Structured work, creativity and interest in new topics
