We are looking for a dedicatedn studentin that supports us in increasing the efficiency and quality of software validation through enhanced use of software-in-the-loop (SIL) environments. Your mission: Building bridge between norm and code Your Bachelor's thesis (''The Future of Software Security – From the Standard to the Automated SIL Testfal'''l) is dedicated to developing a methodology to transform legal and normative requirements into automated, SIL-compliant test cases. A key component is the scientific investigation and definition of criteria that enable us to assess the suitability of a test case for SIL protection and thus make a sound decision on the optimal test environment (SIL vs. vehicle). Your tasks at a glance: Analysis & Translation: Analysis of relevant legal and normative requirements and their transfer into precise, technical test case descriptions
SIL Compatibility: Development of a concept for structuring and formulation of test cases so that You can be executed automatically in our existing SIL environment
Criteria development: Scientific development of criteria and a decision matrix for the demarcation of SIL-ready test cases and those that still need to be validated in the vehicle
Prototypic implementation: Exemplary implementation and demonstration of the developed approach based on selected requirements in the SIL environment
Documentation: Methodological documentation, developed test cases and the findings
The final topics will be discussed with the university, you and us. The activity can begin from May 2026.
You are studying in the field of computer science, embedded systems, vehicle technology or a comparable software/technical study program
Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing
You are interested in software development processes, test methods and ideally first contact points with software-in-the-loop (SIL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems with
First programming knowledge (e.g. Python, C++) are advantageous
Analytical thinking, structured working and interest in the interface between software, legislation and test automation
