We need you as a reinforcement in the GD-ITT-LH department at the Aachen/Hamburg sites as a COBOL developer (m/w/d) in parttime for the Life AC project, limited from 16.06.2025 to 15.12.2026.

Your areas of responsibility:

• You are involved in the development and operation of the Life AC inventory system as COBOL developer (m/w/d)
• You are responsible for implementing requirements of the UMB (universal mathematical calculation system). In addition, you will work on further development tasks around the Life AC inventory system
• You work on the ongoing optimization of applications and ensure high operational stability
• You support the application developers in implementing the corresponding architectural specifications
• You work in a team and, in addition to development and operational activities, you also take on conceptual tasks with a view to IT architecture and tasks in coordinating and managing project topics
• You support the further development and adaptation of HOST-based systems in the context of life systems in Aachen
• You work closely with the contact persons of the departments in projects to implement technical requirements from the project context in the IT systems

We wish

• You have successfully completed an IT-technical training or a computer science study
• You have very good knowledge of the development and operation of HOST/Cobol applications on different platforms
• You have good knowledge of the relevant technologies for the development of IT systems (e.g. programming languages, architecture principles, deployment procedures, infrastructures, databases)
• You have very good knowledge in the field of host/cobol development and know the relevant tools in this environment
• You can work in complex situations quickly and independently and draw your attention through reliability, independence, sense of responsibility and a high degree of commitment
• You convince by your customer orientation, motivation and communication strength as well as your sovereign appearance
