The Hydrology unit is the contact person for all water-related issues related to the port and the Elbe. Our range of tasks includes scientifically sound hydrological advice of all kinds, for example the recommendation of hydrological dimensions and the determination of the effects of water-based measures in the Port of Hamburg on the tide regime of the Elbe. In addition, projects with hydrological reference are accompanied or carried out in an advisory manner. Our core business also includes planning and carrying out hydrological measurements as well as the processing of the collected data, e.g. for shipping, construction and water management or scientific purposes.

You design, plan and conduct autonomously hydrological measurements - ship-supported as well as from land. To do this, you select the appropriate measuring instruments and configurations according to the respective question. You organize regular monitoring measurements as well as special measurements for the processing of specific technical questions, e.g. in advance of construction measures. You take over the technical management of the measuring team and work closely with the management of the ship in case of ship-based operations, taking into account technical and nautical requirements. You are responsible for the evaluation, quality assurance, interpretation and storage of the measurement data and represent the results internally and externally. You are responsible for maintenance, maintenance and demand-oriented refurbishment of the measuring technology used.

You have a completed study (Bachelor) of environmental technology with a focus on hydrology/measuring technology or comparable knowledge and skills with relevant professional experience You can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the IT-supported measurement technology of environmental parameters In addition, you bring experience in flow and suspended material transport We look forward to your knowledge of mathematical time series analysis and complex three-dimensional mathematical applications (e.g. fluid mechanics) Your abstraction ability to analyse technical problems is surely your Self-employed and creative work complete your profile
