Number: MER0004475 Your mission In the Mercedes-Benz research, you work at the interface of design, human and artificial intelligence. Together with designers, researchers and engineers, you develop new operating and display concepts for future vehicle generations – beyond classic screens and GUIs. You support the design, visualization and evaluation of human-machine interfaces that rely on AI, Generative UI/UX (GenUX), multimodal interaction and new metaphors of vehicle operation. Your tasks: Design of UI/UX concepts for innovative operating and display formats in the vehicle Creation of Wireframes, User Flows and interactive prototypes (e.g. with Figma or similar tools) Exploration of AI-based design workflows (e.g. generative interfaces, adaptive UIs, Prompt-based interaction) Visualization of future scenarios, use cases and interaction ideas Support for user-research activities, concept reviews and design evaluations Close cooperation with interdisciplinary teams from design, AI research, psychology and engineering The activity can begin from August 2026.

Your profile: enrolled student in the field of design, UI/UX, interaction design, digital design, media design, HCI or comparable First practical experience with Figma or similar UI/UX tools (e.g. Adobe XD, Sketch, Framer), 3D modelling with Blender or other tools to create new Besien components and 3D printing Strong interest in AI-based interfaces, new operating concepts and future technologies Feeling for user-centered design, interaction and visual clarity Curiosity, conceptual thinking and joy in explorative work Safe handling of German or English (ideally both) Nice to have Experience with Motion / Micro-Interactions or Prototyping beyond static screens First touch points with AI tools in the design context (e.g. generative visuals, Text‐to‐UI, Concept Generation) Interest in Automotive UX, Interior Concepts or Embedded Interfaces Basic knowledge of UX research or design methods What awaits you: Working with real future topics of Mercedes-Benz Research Deep insight into Human‐Centric AI, GenUX and innovative HMI concepts Creative space and explorative work without serial forced Mentoring by experienced designers Modern working environment with high interdisciplinary cooperation Framework conditions: Internship Flexible working hours, hybrid working models possible Location: Mercedes‐Benz Research and Innovation Area Additional information: We are looking forward to your online application with CV, lettering, certificates, current enrollment certificate with a specification of the semester, if necessary.
