The future products of Mercedes-Benz VAN`s have to fulfill both the core tasks of transporting goods and people as well as the increasing requirements for connectivity and digital solutions. However, our Ambition 2039 focuses on the CO2 neutrality and the emission-free drives required. Our share of battery-electric vehicles is growing steadily. We are therefore already working on the next generations of our battery-electric vans today. In this vehicle segment, the customer expectation increases to the seat systems with respect to Luxury, comfort, service and appreciation. In cooperation with suppliers, we develop secure and forward-looking seat systems, seat structures and restraint systems for the worldwide market in the team, up to standard maturity and locate them at the foreign locations. In the team seating systems, we are responsible for the design, series development, securing and certification of VAN seating systems as well as restraint systems (Gurte & sit-integrated airbags), for all VAN series. In order to strengthen our team, we are looking for a development engineer or a development engineer for the fund seating systems with a focus on complete seat development. These tasks come to you: Self-employed development of comfort seating systems and their components for the new VAN.EA platform

System design of the fund seating systems taking into account ergonomics, comfort, design, package and usage behavior

Regular coordination with internal and external partners as a basis for project progress

Creating individual schedules and controlling and monitoring the progress of the project

Participation in the “Sitze” module group

Preparation of decision-making templates for decision-making bodies taking into account various technical and economic issues

Creation and coordination of specifications and product certificates in cooperation with internal and external partners

Participation in order assignment and subsequent coordination and control of suppliers

Developmental start-up support including the implementation of all necessary documentation and activities within the scope of change management

Ideally bring the following: Successfully completed study of mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering or a comparable degree

Experience gained in the field of component and system development (ideally in the area of seats) with a focus on vehicle construction

Experience in both digital and hardware-based component development and test backup

Experience in supplier management and project management of complex systems

readiness for travel activities to production and supplier sites

Very knowledge of how to use MS Office

Ideally knowledge of the application of CAD systems (Siemens NX, Engineering Client etc.)

Very good English skills in word and writing
