With external sales of around 12.24 billion euros and around 76,000 employees (including self-employed retailers and nearly 3,400 trainees), the EDEKA Minden-Hannover is the largest sales of a total of seven regional companies in the cooperatively organized EDEKA association. It has existed since 1920, extends from the Dutch to the Polish border and includes Bremen, Lower Saxony, a part of East Westfalen-Lippe, Saxony-Anhalt, Berlin and Brandenburg. We are looking for a political advisor/public affairs manager for the EDEKA Minden-Hannover. The new position aims to effectively represent the interests of the company at regional and national level. Particular attention is given to the close dialogue with policy-makers, authorities, agriculture and relevant associations. The body is located in the company communication organization, but is strongly oriented towards the requirements of the Executive Board. Responsibly take care of building clear internal structures and processes for political communication and developing a political management agenda. The maintenance and further development of contacts with MEPs, parliamentarians, ministries and authorities as well as the establishment and active maintenance of a sustainable network in the agricultural policy, agricultural associations and key actors is an important part. The development of these papers, position lines and background briefings among key topics of the company (e.g. food trade, agriculture, location development, transport infrastructure) are your tasks. With commitment, you are responsible for the further development and implementation of structured dialogue formats with agriculture in close coordination with the internal experts. In addition, you will deal with the early identification of agricultural policy developments, conflict fields and opportunities and derive sound communication and positioning strategies.

You have a completed university degree in political, economic, agricultural or communication sciences or a comparable qualification. Multiannual professional experience in the political environment (e.g. associations, ministries, political advice, companies with political interfaces) and optimal experience in the food retailing industry will bring you with you. You have an excellent understanding of political processes at national and federal level, especially in agricultural, commercial or local policy. To do this, you have communication strength, strategic thinking and diplomatic skills in contact with a variety of stakeholders – from farms to national policy. Their high sense of responsibility, a structured way of working as well as the pronounced ability to compress complex facts round off your profile.
