Industrial mechanics are the experts when it comes to the production, maintenance, repair and operation of machinery and production facilities – in almost all sectors of industry. Industrial mechanic is a recognized training profession. The regular training period is three and a half years and is dually trained in the company and in the vocational school. We form the industrial mechanic with the field of machine and plant engineering, as well as the industrial mechanic with the field of precision equipment construction. Activity Production, assembly and disassembly You not only work with the finished machines, but you also manufacture parts and assemblies for production plants and machines. Then you mount them and adjust them properly. It is important to check all functions, because the workpieces must be accurate to one hundredth or even one thousandth of a millimeter! If necessary, rebuild the production facilities. Use technical documentation to help you plan your work steps exactly. You often talk to colleagues, for example from the field of electrical engineering or mechatronics. Inspection and optimization Once a machine is running, it always runs – wrong! It is particularly important that production processes are constantly monitored. On the PC, you will collect data and document individual steps. Only in this way can defects in production be detected and eliminated as quickly as possible. You are also interested in constantly optimizing the work steps. Quality controls are therefore part of your regular tasks. Maintenance and repair Maintenance means preventive maintenance measures. If a machine is defective, nothing can be produced. This means losses for a company. You're in the game! You make sure that production plants are cleaned regularly, operating materials are refilled and wear phenomena are detected at an early stage. If necessary, order spare parts or manufacture them yourself. You will, of course, supply waste products properly.

In addition to your basic interest in technology, you should bring craftsmanship and a good spatial imagination. Motivation and careful work, reliability, commitment and team skills are of course for you.
