The GFZ is the national center for researching the solid earth in Germany. We support systematic career planning, provide advice on career-relevant topics and promote networking within and outside science. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated person to strengthen our team of talent management in the personnel sector. conceptual development and independent implementation of workshops, trainings and other formats on career development topics for people in different career stages (e.g. postdocs, executives) Conducting structured career coaching Analysis of the training, coaching and networking requirements of young scientists: using qualitative and quantitative methods Organization and moderation of career-related formats with external speakers: inside Identification and extraction of external speakers:inside on topics of career development within and outside science strategic construction and further development of the professional alumni network (representatives of the GFZ and external organisations) Coordination and conception of larger career development programs from the tendering to the evaluation (e.g. Compass-Mentoring Program, LeapIn-Hospitation Program) Documentation of events on career promotion and work on reporting formats impulsive cooperation and active participation in Helmholtz networks on career-related topics associated with occasional missions (1–2 times a year) Creation of professional content for advertising material from the Career Center, for the design of the website or for newsletters Cooperation with other members of the Talent Management Team (e.g. Graduate Program, Recruiting, Welcome Center) on joint projects active participation in third-party applications occasional representation of other areas of talent management, e.g. when performing events

Required qualifications: completed master's degree and PhD in the social sciences (e.g. with focus on work and organizational psychology, economic psychology, adult education, human resources management or business management) or in the natural sciences (e.g. with focus on geosciences) Additional qualification, e.g. coaching or Trainer:internal certification proven experience in scientific research or academic teaching context proven experience in conceptual development and independent implementation of workshop or training concepts in relevant areas of career development and/or areas of development of social, methodical or personal skills strong technical expertise in the fields of strategic career development (e.g. appointment procedures in the academic context), self-presentation competence (e.g. design of professional application documents/calls), networking (e.g. LinkedIn use) well-founded experience in career coaching or consulting young scientists: Experience in performing qualitative and/or quantitative evaluations (e.g. online questionnaires) with related tools (e.g. LimeSurvey) strong communication skills in dealing with different stakeholders:inside (e.g. postdocs, principal investigators, research group management, human resources departments) profound understanding of the German university and non-university science system very good knowledge of German and fluent English (in word and writing) Required qualifications: Security in networking, e.g. within (and outside) the GFZ, the Helmholtz Association and the German research landscape Experience in the processing of third-party applications Experience in event management and the use of appropriate software programs (e.g. Indico) competent handling of social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
