DMTG GmbH: Process Engineer – Cockpit Assembly (Automotive Interior)

Our client, a globally projecting automotive interior manufacturer, is establishing a new production facility in Ingolstadt, Germany to primarily serve leading German automakers (such as Audi). With project advancement accelerating rapid team growth, we now an HR Business Partner with fluency in Chinese, German and English to jointly cultivate a highly efficient cross-cultural team.

Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and optimize the assembly process for cockpit interior modules (e.g., instrument panels, center consoles);

  • Participate in the introduction of new products (NPI) and conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturabilityevaluations);

  • Create and maintain work instructions, process chart flows, PFMEA, and other relevant documentation;

  • Analyze and resolve process-related issues on the shop floor, stable and efficient assembly performance;

  • Support jig and fixture design, balancing clock time, and continuous improvement of tooling;

  • Coordinate with quality, logistics, planning, and equipment teams to drive lean manufacturing initiatives;

  • Support JIS (Just-in-Sequence) production operations and process integration with Audi.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in assembly process engineering for automotive interior systems.

  • Strong understanding of cockpit structures and their assembly sequence.

  • Proficient in PFMEA, DFM/DFA, line balancing, standard work, and process troubleshooting.

  • Working experience in JIS or Audi-linked production lines is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with CAD tools, Microsoft Office, and MES systems.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a cross-functional environment.

  • English is required; German proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Background:

  • Work experience at leading Tier 1 suppliers (e.g., Yanfeng, Faurecia, Adient, Lear, IAC).

  • Previous engagement in projects with Audi or other major OEMs.

  • Knowledge of cockpit module interfaces, electronics integration, and tooling ergonomics.

  • Familiar with Chinese-German automotive planning setup and communication practices.
