Lateral entry in software development for scientists (home office)

Where to pack • You want to try something completely new as a natural scientist and venture into IT? At zollsoft you can gain a grip on the development of software! • With regular mentoring by experienced developers, you will be intensively involved. After a short time, you can develop our existing software applications independently with a view to the needs of our users. • What products you are going to do with us, we do not know at the time of your application. In the course of the recruiting process, our internal experts look into which team you fit best. (Wünsche are taken into account of course!) • If you’ve got a real experience with us and want more, you can start customer-specific new developments or further develop towards product management. • As a software developer, you work with different programming languages and frameworks. If you don't know all of them, you can learn them with us of course! • This position can be 100% exercised from the home office. So you can determine when you want to work anywhere in Germany. • A part-time job is not in the way, but it would be ideal if you spend at least 30h of your time with us a week.

What you should bring • You have studied something technical or scientific (even if you are a doctorate) and can be really proud of your very good result. • You don’t have to be a fully-fledged programmer yet, but you should have programmed with an object-oriented language – whether in a course at the university or at home in a private way. These foundations serve as a foundation for your developer career at zollsoft. • You’re really curious about IT, you’ve already had a little work on it and now you’d like to work more closely into practical implementation. • You are demanding about your own work – Your results are always well thought out and tested for heart and kidneys. • New knowledge you suck like a sponge to derive pragmatic solutions for problems of any kind. You are open to other ways of thinking and use them creatively for your own innovation approaches. • Your first experience with agentic software development (e.g. CLI-based AI programming via Claude Code / Codex) or in the area of Vibecoding can be applied practically to us. • In order to be able to get a grip on us, it is imperative that you master German at least on C1 level.
