Deputy Head of the Finance Department, at the same time Head of Budgeting and Financial Planning as well as Third-Party Funding Management (m/f/d)

You represent the Head of Finance. You take over the management and planning of the responsible areas of expertise and, together with the management staff, develop the area of finance as a service-oriented partner for faculties and central institutions. You are responsible for the establishment, control and control of the university's budget plan in close coordination with the main professional vice-president ( Chancellor) and the management of the Finance Department. You ensure compliance with external (laws and regulations) and internal (directives) requirements in the management of funds. You develop medium-term financial planning and ensure transparent financial and reporting. You provide the University Management and the University Organisational Units with relevant data and financial assessments for financial management, funding and financial reporting. You contribute to the strategic development of the financial and accounting system of the University and actively promote the modernisation of the Finance Department. These include the digitization of financial processes, the migration to SAP S/4 HANA and the introduction of further functionalities in the SAP system. You advise and support the Bureau, the faculties and institutions in all financial matters, taking into account the continuously changing framework conditions.

You have a relevant academic degree (Master or Diploma) in the fields of business, administration or a comparable discipline. Ideally, you already have professional experience in the university environment. You already have first leadership and management experiences (e.g. the management of small teams and/or the management of larger projects). You have extensive knowledge of commercial budgetary and economic management as well as accounting according to HGB and the relevant legal framework, in particular the right to finance and grants. You have experience in budget planning and budget negotiations as well as in the financial management of larger organisational units. You bring a pronounced process thinking and a high affinity to the further development of administrative structures and have the openness and the courage to shape spaces. You have experiences in initiation and accompanying change and development processes, in particular in the context of digitalization and ideally in the introduction or migration of ERP systems. Intensified and tested SAP knowledge, especially in the field of procurement and financial processes, are desired. You are characterized by organisational skills, a good judgment and a pronounced understanding of scientific concerns. You work service- and solution-oriented and bring a pronounced design and implementation. You have very good knowledge of German and good English and are confident of the relevant office applications.
