Teamleiter/in Data / AI Governance (m/f/d)

The focus is on the technical and disciplinary leadership of the Data/AI-Governance team with nine employees at several locations. In your role as a team leader, you design governance as a framework for enabling: You create clear guidelines for secure, effective and consistent use of data and AI – with the aim of accelerating innovation instead of blocking. You control strategic topics and tasks of central corporate and core processes, represent the interests of the barmers and drive the achievement of higher-level corporate goals within the BARMER.KI staff department with currently six teams. Data- & AI-Governance at strategic level: Conception, introduction and continuous development of a corporate governance framework including policies, standards, role models, decision-making and control and reporting mechanisms, taking into account regulatory requirements. Impressive interface and consulting competence: close coordination with data protection, corporate risk management and information security, targeted ability of AI-Use-Case and data platform teams, leadership of relevant bodies and sovereign moderation of conflicts of interest between governance requirements and operational requirements.

Completed studies in (economic) informatics, data science, law with IT reference or comparable qualification Multiannual professional and disciplinary leadership experience in data governance, AI governance or compliance in data-driven organisations, ideally in highly regulated industries. Leadership as an enablement: You lead goal-oriented and solution-oriented, create clarity through structure and transparency and enable your team as well as departments to take responsibility for safe and effective use of data and AI. Clear decision-making and communication strength: understandable preparation of complex topics, timely and sound decisions and active involvement of relevant stakeholders for sustainable results. Knowledge of data and AI governance principles, role models, lifecycle of AI systems, data/model risks and regulatory requirements. Consistent with common frameworks (e.g. DAMA‐DMBOK, BSI Standards, ISO/IEC 23894 Risk Management, ISO/IEC 42001 AI Management System). Technical understanding of modern data platforms (Cloud, Lakehouse, DWH), MLOps/LLMOps, Data Quality and Lineage tools. The German language can be spoken and written on at least C1 level, which allows you to communicate both in writing and verbally clearly and precisely.
