The Diakonische Werk Hamburg-West Südholstein is an immortal work in the church district Hamburg West/ Südholstein. With 36 institutions working in all areas of social work approx. 380 employees in the Hamburger Westen, Pinneberg, Norderstedt and Quickborn at the Diakonische Werk. Centrally located in Hamburg Altona is the Trinitatis quarter - an innovative project of the Ev.-Luth. Church district Hamburg-West/Südholstein. The Diaconical Work of the Church Circle of the same name operates on this site both the homeless ground MAhL ZEIT and the project “Housing First”.

We allow visitors to the MAhL ZEIT a social point of contact and a meeting point in the neighborhood. Inhabitants of the 26 (compact) housings for housing and homeless people or people in precarious living conditions according to the “Housing First” principle we offer individual advice and support on the (back) path for participation in social life. The Diakonisches Werk Hamburg-West/Südholstein is looking for a*n for the homeless ground MAhL ZEIT as of 01.05.2026 Social education (m/w/d) / Social worker (m/w/d), parttime (19.5 hours/where), first terminated for 1 year with option for extension.

Secure the day-to-day operation including an overview of our guests Contact point for guests with questions/ discussions/ crisis management Instructions for hour readers Participation in planning (information) events, e.g. for guests and/or donors of the MAhLZEIT Network and committee work in the district Guide the Small Cashier Participation in the educational conception and orientation of the institution Representation of the management in operation in the absence of the institution Working hours are based on the opening hours of MAHLZEIT (Monday to Thursday 8-13 hrs.)

You are a dynamic and dedicated personality with interest in working with homeless people. Do you have a high level of expertise and social competence? You also bring: a completed study of social work, social education or a comparable subject ideally experience in work with housing and homeless people psychological resilience and conflictability Flexibility and collaborative capability and interest in the team a structured, independent and targeted operation preferably experience in cooperation with volunteers safe handling of PC and MS Office programs
