Director Engineering (m/w/d)

In order to strengthen the leadership team, we are looking for an entrepreneurially thinking and high-quality personality as Director Engineering (m/w/d). In this key role, you are responsible for technical integration in demanding customer projects and the strategic development of the engineering department.

The location of use: Hamburg

Leadership & Development: Discipline and professional leadership of three team leaders and their teams (>30 employees), including cross-site coordination with international colleagues. Technical Excellence & Software Integration: Responsibility for the integration of complex technical platforms in customer projects, especially in the field of software and hardware integration. Strategic development: design and implementation of the engineering strategy for the optimization of quality, speed and system integration. Operational Excellence: Control of a technically highly competitive integration performance (hard and software) with focus on B2B solutions, technical project management and engineering processes. Change Management: Drivers for Professionalization, Digitization and Optimization of Processes in System Engineering. Customer proximity & Negotiation security: Direct support in escalation and negotiation situations with customers as well as control of KPIs relevant to the department. Talent promotion: Identification and development of high potentials and talents to ensure long-term technical excellence

Experience & leadership: At least 5 years of leadership experience in engineering, ideally in a company operating in the complex solution and project business. Technical & Business Background: Study of Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration. Software and system integration: Experience with the integration of complex software solutions, preferably in areas such as embedded systems, platform integration or technical education and B2B applications. Leadership experience in interdisciplinary teams: control of hardware (approximately 10 MA) and software specialists (approximately 15 MA), especially in the field of Linux and server technologies. International competence: readiness to international travel (approx. 20-30%) and reliable German and English. Methodological expertise: experience with MBSE, project management and agile and classic methods for process control. High level of structure & documentation: habit in handling technical documentation work and understanding of process-oriented documentation requirements. Entrepreneurial thinking: Strategic sense of opportunities, risks and market potential. High social competence: Strong communication, negotiation and moderation capabilities as well as intercultural awareness
